Degree Section Working Hours:

Morning Session : 9.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m.

Afternoon Session : 2.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m.

( On Saturdays, the college working hours are 9.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m.)

Exam Details

	Description
Exam Terms	There will be two examinations for all degree classes - the mid-term examinations in August-September and the preparatory examinations in the first week of January of each academic year. In addition to these Term examinations, lecturers will hold Tests on days prescribed and shall submit the results of the result to the principal soon after. No student shall absent himself/herself from any examination or class test without obtaining prior permission from the principal in person. Cumulative Records will be given to students twice a year with entries of marks and month wise attendance. Students are expected to show them to their parents, get their signatures and bring them back to the respective Staff-Advisor. Parents and Guardians are particularly requested to supervise the studies of their wards at home and co-operate with the principal and his staff in all matters pertaining to the welfare of the student. The principal will be glad to meet parents and discuss with them the progress of their children. Promotion from the First year and the Second year to the next senior class and selection to the university Examinations will depend upon the progress of the student as shown in his\her examinations and tests, on his/her conduct, behavior and attendance. A candidate who fails in a lower semester examinations may go to the higher semester. However Regulations Governing Credit Based Semester for Bachelor Degree Programmes (Framed under section 44(1)(c) of the KSU Act 2000) No candidate shall be permitted to take the fifth semester examination unless he/she passes all the papers of the first semester examination No candidate shall be permitted to take the sixth semester examination unless he/she passes all the papers of the first and second semester examinations.
Internal Assessment	A system of internal assessment is in force for the students of the degree classes. 20% of the marks in each theory paper/subject are reserved for internal assessment. Students will be assessed on the basis of their performance in the two college examinations held in the course of the academic year.
Minimum Passing Criteria	No candidate shall be declared to have passed the examination unless he/she obtains not less than 35% marks in the written examination and 35% marks in the aggregate of written examination and internal assessment put together 35% marks in the practical examinations (subject with practicals) in each of the optional subjects and in each of the languages. A candidate, who fails to successfully complete the programme within a period of three years after admission, shall be allowed to complete the programme with in the next three years, i.e. to complete the programme within a total period of six years from the year of admission. However, not more than four attempts to pass any of the three examinations (first year or second year third year) of the programme shall be permitted. If the candidate fails to successfully complete the programme as specified above, he/she shall seek fresh admission to the programme

A candidate who has passed the two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by the Board of Pre-University Education in Karnataka or any other examination considered as equivalent there to by the University is eligible for admission to the B.A., B.Sc. and B.Com subject to following conditions:

Candidates for B.Sc Degree Course shall normally select the corresponding optional science subjects which he/she studied at the Pre- University Examination.
Candidates who have studied Biology in the Pre-University Course are permitted to take Botany and Zoology in B.Sc. Course
Candidates that have not studied Statistics at the Pre-University Course are permitted to take Statistics in the B.Sc. Degree Course provided they have taken Mathematics at the Pre-University Examination.
Students of any stream - Arts, Commerce or Science are eligible for B.C.A. Degree course.
