Eligibility Criteria

Admission to Pre-University Courses is open to candidates who have passed one of the following:

1. S.S.L.C. Examination conducted by the Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board
2. Matriculation Examination of an Indian University
3. Any other examination recognized by the Board as equivalent to the Matriculation Examination

Exam Details

	Description
Exam Terms	There will be two examinations for all classes - the mid-term examinations in August-September and the preparatory examinations in the first week of January of each academic year. In addition to these Term examinations, lecturers will hold Tests on days prescribed and shall submit the results of the result to the principal soon after. No student shall absent himself/herself from any examination or class test without obtaining prior permission from the principal in person. Cumulative Records will be given to students twice a year with entries of marks and month wise attendance. Students are expected to show them to their parents, get their signatures and bring them back to the respective Staff-Advisor. Parents and Guardians are particularly requested to supervise the studies of their wards at home and co-operate with the principal and his staff in all matters pertaining to the welfare of the student. The principal will be glad to meet parents and discuss with them the progress of their children. Promotion from the First year and the Second year to the next senior class and selection to the university Examinations will depend upon the progress of the student as shown in his\her examinations and tests, on his/her conduct, behavior and attendance.
Rules for 1st year Pre-University Class examinations/Annual examination	Minimum Attendance : A student to be permitted to take the annual examination, must have put in 75% of the number of working periods in each language or subjects. An Examination fee of Rs. 100/- per student will be levied to defray the expenditure on printing, stationery. There will be two Tests : one Mid-term Examination and a Preparatory Examination. The district Level I year P.U.C. Examination results will be declared as per the rules of Pre-University Board. There will be Supplementary Examination for failed I year PU students. Candidates who pass in all subjects of the I Year P.U.C. Annual Examination are only eligible for admission to the II year P.U.C.
Minimum Passing Criteria	No candidate shall be declared to have passed the examination unless he/she obtains not less than 35% marks in the written examination and 35% marks in the aggregate of written examination and internal assessment put together 35% marks in the practical examinations (subject with practicals) in each of the optional subjects and in each of the languages. A candidate, who fails to successfully complete the programme within a period of three years after admission, shall be allowed to complete the programme with in the next three years, i.e. to complete the programme within a total period of six years from the year of admission. However, not more than four attempts to pass any of the three examinations (first year or second year third year) of the programme shall be permitted. If the candidate fails to successfully complete the programme as specified above, he/she shall seek fresh admission to the programme

Options after Pre-University

Education	Pre-Requisites
3 year Degree	Candidates that have opted atleast three science subjects (P,C,M,B,S,Cs) are eligible to the relative Science Course at the Degree level at our college or elsewhere.
Engineering or Medicine	Candidates that have taken Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology would be eligible for admission to Degree Courses in Engineering and Medicine elsewhere.
Engineering Only	Candidates offering Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Statistics, Computer Science are eligible for admission to degree courses for Engineering elsewhere.
